The Caribbean is without question an ideal choice for those looking for that dream holiday in paradise. Teresa - Dubai

My favourite holiday would have to be Dubai where you are spoilt with luxurious hotels. Sunshine all year round, clear blue skys, blue sea and long white sandy beaches, superb water sports, and excellent golf courses, what else could you ask for.

After a day spent in the sun you can head for the shops and stay shopping till late in the huge malls. The people are so friendly and the restaurants keep up the reputation of good quality.

If you get tired of sitting by the pool or beach the wild wadi waterpark is a day not to be missed, situated beside the famous Jumeriah beach hotel, the waterpark is both suited for the adults as well as kids, hours of fun to be enjoyed. You can also enjoy some Arabian experiences ie. desert safaris, sand skiing, camel racing etc.

Dubai is a unique holiday adventure covering the entire spectrum of activities, so whatever your holiday needs Dubai is a place not to be missed.

Ann - Mauritius

I had read that Mauritius is recognised as one of the Top Ten Exclusive resorts in the world, and having visited last year - it certainly lives up to its reputatition. Apart from its luxurious hotels offering a very high level of service, private beaches an endless list of water sports including - scuba diving, snorkelling. Deep sea fishing and canoeing this tropical island has a lot more to offer.

We were lucky enough to stay at The Royal Palm - one of the Leading Hotels of the World, home to the rich and famous while on holidays. We heard of George Harrison and Emma Bunton to mention a few. The highlight of my trip was a Jeep safari across the island we travelled on secret trails offering breathtaking views, treking off to explore the many waterfalls and lush vegetation of this Tropical Island. This was followed by a unique visit to a Mauritian Household for dinner, the meal was prepared by the wife of one of the local Hindu priests, and began with a shot of Rum followed by chicken curry and Nan bread, eaten by hand - no Knives or Forks, a far cry from the luxury we had left behind in the morning but one of the most memorable evenings !!

Definately one of the most exotic holiday destinations for that special occasion, particularly Honeymooners where the hotels offer 50% discount for the Bride.

Maura - Sorrento

The rail journey to Sorrento was far more interesting than I expected and a welcome change from the bustling city of Rome where we had spent a few days. Sorrento is a lively resort perched on 150 ft cliffs at the southern end of the Bay of Naples. This town, world famous for its spectacular views has lots to offer, elegant shopping on the Corsa Italia , wonderful restaurants, and a host of top quality hotels. But its greatest asset is its central location to explore the many sites of the Amalfi Coastline.

The highlight of my visit was a day trip to the Island of Capri (30 min by Hydrofoil from Sorrento). The best way to see the island is to take the bus up to Ana Capri at the heart of the island and walk back down the mountain with its 800 steps and unforgettable views of the coastline. Finishing the day off at one of the many local restaurants, sampling the regions famous speciality “Pizza Napoletana. There is also a wonderful choice of seafood caught daily along the coastline.

Just across the peninsular from Sorrento lies the tiny village of Positano, quite an exclusive and fashionable town, the whole centre is a pedestrianised maze of cobbled alleyways and steps. The church of Santa Maria Assunta with its colourful dome is the focal point of the town. Further down the coast lies the traditional fishing village of Amalfi, the view of this town is from from the steep hillside on the outskirts with its whitewashed houses all perched above one another. Our final visit was to Ravello, boasting some of the best views of the Coast. This village is further inland and perched high on a hillside above Amalfi. Less visited than the other towns Ravello has retained all of its original charm.

A visit to Sorrento would not be complete without a trip to Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius. The fateful events which befell Pompeii in 79AD are vividly brought to life at the famous Volcano and surrounding areas. The Villa dei Misteri and other facinating ruins complement this day trip from Sorrento.

Lynn - South Africa

Landing in Capetown at 0700 after a 10 hour flight from London, we could have been in any European City, except of course for the backdrop of the Indian Ocean and the ever changing shape of Table Mountain as we drove around it heading downtown.

This city is the perfect starting point for a visit to the vast country of South Africa. A tour along the south cape to watch the meeting of the Atlantic and Indian Oceans, a visit to Robben Island (Nelson Mandelas home for 27 years) , take the cable to the top of Table Mountain are but a few of sites this city has to offer. Travelling north we spent a couple of days touring the vinyeards of the Southern Alps, before heading for
Oudtshoorn – the ‘Ostrich Capital’ and on to the Garden Route for its , wild life reserves, penguin colonies, whale watching and fine dining not to mention the super standard of Bed and Breakfast accomodation along the way.

The highlight of our trip was the visit to Kruger National Park. With a land mass the size of Wales, you will only see a fraction of it on one visit, the priority being to see as much game as possible – in particular ‘The Big Five’ – Rhino, Buffalo, Elephant, Lion, and Leopard. Our game warden taking it as his personal responsibility to ensure we would, had us up at dawn visiting the watering holes, I wouldn’t have imagined that it could be so exciting to sit and wait for a Hippo to lift his nose out of the water, or that I could feel so vulnerable watching an angry elephant wrestle with a tree a little too close to where we were parked. Entertained by the chorus of African birdlife, we saw giraffe, cheetah, zebra and antelope in their natural environment and braved a walking safari in the bush with the game ranger !! Gave us memories to last a lifetime.

Karen - Las Vegas

Las Vegas was everything I expected it to be and more - Disney for adults is how I would describe this city of bright lights and 24-hour entertainment. Arriving late at night - I could see the Las Vegas Boulevard light up the city with its endless amount of hotels, restaurants and casinos.

Having visited the US on numerous occasions, I couldn’t get over the excellent standard of Hotels, all of which have a theme, e.g. Luxor Hotel built as a pyramid for Ancient Egypt, New York New York Hotel - with all the traditional city landmarks, The Paris Hotel with its mini Eiffel Tower, The Venetian Hotel with its own gondelas and water ways and not to forget the Bellagio Hotel famous for its part in the Movie Oceans 11.

Fortunately, I had the pleasure of staying at the legendry Caesars Palace Hotel & Casino (remember the Friends episode where Ross and Rachel got married!!) Caesars Palace is the centre point of 'the strip' and has so many fabulous features, it has to be seen to be believed.

Dining out is the best value for money in Las Vegas - offering a wide range of casual restaurants to elite 5* dining. My favourite was a visit to the Stratosphere Hotel and revolving restaurant- the tallest freestanding observation tower in the U.S., a most romantic setting with its spectacular views over this seven mile strip - reservations a must!! With its endless amount of entertainment shows for example Siegfried & Roy, & David Copperfield. The Rat Pack and MGM Grand for its big boxing events, roller coasters and water Parks this 24-hour city never sleeps.

Las Vegas, famed for its Casinos is not all about gambling! There are many wonderful tours from the city the most popular being the Grand Canyon, by road or by air which is to be recommended for its spectacular views. Death Valley, the lowest and the hottest part of the world is also only a drive away. With this amount of fun you will have no need to check the time - but be sure to bring your own watch - there are no Clocks in Las Vegas !!!!
